ISACA
Mumbai Chapter represents ISACA in Mumbai and is operational since 1993.
It was formally launched as ISACA chapter and recognized as Chapter No.
145 in September 1996.Currently, it is one of the very large chapters of
ISACA, USA.
Chapter Bylaws:
ISACA
Mumbai Chapter is governed by a Managing Committee, which is elected by
the members every year. The Chapter has been incorporated with its
Bylaws duly approved by ISACA International and also by the Local
Regulatory Authorities. All its Board Members (members of the Managing
Committee) act in accordance with the Bylaws. The Bylaws and Chapter
Administration Manual are used as guide while conducting the Chapter
activities.
The
Chapter follows the Policies and Procedures that are documented in the
Chapter Bylaws and further reinforced by the Chapter Administration
Manual released by ISACA International every year.
Managing Committee :
The
Chapter has a Managing Committee of Eleven Members comprising of ten
elected members and the Immediate Past President becomes the Ex-Officio
member in the Managing Committee. The Chapter Managing Committee
regularly meets at least once a month – currently 2nd Saturday of every
month, to deal with various issues, as per clearly defined Agenda. Each
of the Board Members is given clearly defined portfolio(s) and
allocation of work.
Administrative Office :
The
Chapter also has an Administrative Office which caters to the
Administrative Functioning of the Chapter and also to respond quickly to
the queries raised by the Chapter members. Unanswered queries are
escalated to the relevant Board Member, who handles the respective
portfolio.
Financial Matters :
The
Chapter adopts Conservative & Prudential Accounting Norms in managing
its Financial Resources and adopts Proactive Risk Management Measures in
carrying out its activities. It has an Annual Budget, which is adopted
by the Board and its Annual Accounts are adopted by the Members every
year after it is audited by an independent practicing Chartered
Accountant selected and appointed by the Members. The Chapter has a
healthy Balance Sheet and is looking forward to acquisition of its own
premises, in order to serve its members in a better manner.
Member Communication :
The
Chapter has an Active Website: www.isacamumbai.org, which disseminates
matters of interests to the general public, including details of CISA /
CISM exams, certification process, Chapter Programs / Seminars /
Conferences and so on. The website also has a member only area where
members’ CPE Credit Hours, latest Job Offers, special notices and
downloadable content are posted. The Chapter also sends the notices
regarding its activities / chapter member meetings / seminars and
conferences to its members and general public through email and has
hired services from a Website and E-Mail Vendor to help the chapter
actively carry out its mailing campaign. The Chapter has e-Newsletter to
reach out to the members faster. It has an additional mass - SMS
facility to communicate with the members and remind them of the programs
for which they have registered. The facility is well appreciated by many
of members.
Marketing & Publicity :
The
Chapter has an active communication strategy of targeting the Chapter
Members, potential Members and general Public through the medium of
Print, Email, Media, Word of Mouth publicity and so on. All its Print
Advertisements, which are being released regularly, are sent to ISACA
International, for prior approval. The Chapter Board Members actively
serve as Brand Ambassadors of the Chapter at many of the functions,
where they are invited to speak on the profession of IS Audit, Security
and Governance.
Grooming Future Leaders :
The
chapter regularly encourages its members to come forward and serve the
Chapter as Volunteers, in different capacities. In due course after
regular volunteering, these members get elected to the Chapter Board.
This helps the Chapter in grooming a regular line of Volunteers and
Future Leaders. The Chapter also has started a practice of "Call for
Volunteers" program, inviting the Chapter Members to come forward and
serve the Chapter, highlighting therein the benefits accruing to the
Volunteers.
All the
Members inducted to the Board are encouraged to view ISACA's Chapter
Board orientation web cast and also review the Chapter Administration
Manual. New Members are actively guided by the Senior Board Members in
understanding ISACA International Policies, Procedures, and Business
Strategies. |
