| The Mumbai Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association
(ISACA), has established two scholarships to promote the pursuit of IS Audit education.
PURPOSE OF SCHOLARSHIP:
The purpose of the scholarship is:
A: To provide financial assistance to an individual seeking to pursue the CISA /
CISM Qualifications by appearing for the CISA / CISM Examination.
B: To Award excellence in research, paper writing and other professional
contributions towards IT Governance.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SCHOLARSHIP:
Applicants for the Scholarship must be a member or the dependent of a member in good
standing of the Mumbai Chapter – ISACA.
A member in good standing is an individual whose chapter dues as a regular / student
member are current.
Note: Scholarship awards are granted with out regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex,
disability, or national origin.
SELECTION CRITERIA FOR SCHOLARSHIP:
1) Applicant should be a bona fide full time or part time graduate student attending
an accredited college, university or professional course within Mumbai whose
degree / diploma / professional program concentrates on Information Technology
or Business or Accounting, e.g. e-MBA, MMS, MCA, Engineering, B.Sc / M.Sc.
IT, CA Course, etc.,
2) The eligible applicants will be considered on the following further criteria –
a. Merit – Academic track record – showing proven scholarship
b. Interest and work done in Information System Security and Audit –
papers, contributions, research, etc.
c. Recommendations and personal statement of intent.
d. Overall assessment in personal interview / screening, if required.
CONDITIONS OF SCHOLARSHIP:
All awards are for pursuit of CISA / CISM examination only.
Awards may be given for excellence in research, paper writing and other professional
contributions towards IT Governance.
The scholarship will be made payable to the student.
The scholarship award is applicable to one term only. However, recipients may re-apply
in subsequent terms.
Only one application per member per year in good standing.
Preference is given to applicants:
That are submitting their first application, · are students attending an accredited college, university or professional course
within Mumbai,
· whose degree / diploma / professional program concentrates on Information
Technology or Business.
· higher second class in the last examination taken.
academic aptitude and achievement, personal statement, and recommendations will also
be considered.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:
The amount of the ISACA Mumbai Chapter Scholarship(s) award is
1) Rs. 20,000 (Twenty thousand only) per college
2) Rs 10,000 ( Ten thousand only) per college
to be distributed to two (2) qualified applicants who meet all of the stated
requirements. The scholarship award will be made payable in the name of the
recipient.
Colleges contributing 10 or more than 10 members would have scholarship awards
per college.
SCHOLARSHIP PROCESS:
Individuals interested in applying for the ISACA Mumbai Chapter Scholarship may do so
by completing an application. The application, with recent transcript of qualifications and
two letters of reference, should be submitted to the Chapter President. The recipient will
be selected on the basis of academic record, potential to succeed, leadership and
participation in college and / or community activities, honors, and work experience.
Financial need is not considered. The Chapter reserves the right to interview each
applicant.
All applications must be received no later than December 15th for the December 2007
Examination and April 1st for the June 2008 Examination. Selection will be made by the
Mumbai Chapter Scholarship Committee. This Committee will be appointed by the
current chapter President for a one-year term comprising of the President and the
Academic Relations Coordinator. All decisions made by this Committee shall be
considered final. All applicants will be notified as to the final status of their application.
The recipient will receive the scholarship at the next monthly Chapter meeting. |
