Topic : Enterprise Governance of IT for Board of Directors

The word corporate governance was first popularized in 1984 through an article by Robert Tricker. Directors involvement and commitment to enterprise governance has grown multi fold since then. As IT takes the center stage to the success of business strategy, Boards around the world have been taking greater cognizance of their roles and responsibilities towards the corporate governance of IT.

Today a few standards address the needs for and international standard for the corporate governance of information and communication technology - including the directors to drive actions in accordance with the good governance principles.

ISO/IEC 38500 & COBIT both provide the much needed guidance for Board of Directors in truly governing IT.

B. Principles of Good IT Governance

C. Implementation Roadmap (Ref Calder-Moir Framework)

D. Summary and Conclusion



Speaker & Profile : Shrikant Patil, CGEIT CISA CRISC

Shrikant has 15 years of global (across North America, Europe, India, & Africa) work experience of consulting and managing several large & complex IT enabled strategic /transformational engagements for CxO suite, spanning across multiple industries primarily banking, finance, insurance, services and manufacturing.

Shrikant is Certified as CGEIT, CISA, CRISC, CSQA and in Corporate Governance from UNITAR. He is a guest speaker at ISACA & PMI and is a member of ISACA’s global committee for Government Regulatory Advocacy since Aug 2011.

Shrikant holds a B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai and MBA in Finance from Mumbai University
