Introduction to COBIT 2019

3:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Mr. Avinash W. Kadam

ISACA recently unveiled the latest edition of its flagship product COBIT after a gap of seven years. COBIT 2019 has introduced many new features including the concept of designing and implementing a tailored governance system based on focus areas. A brand new COBIT 2019 Design Guide has been introduced to facilitate this approach. It has also done a major revamp of process related guidance. Enablers have been renamed as ‘Components of Governance System’ and have been included explicitly for each process in the new ‘Governance and Management Objective’ book. COBIT Performance Management (CPM) has replaced the earlier Process Assessment Model (PAM). 3 additional management objectives have been added making the total to 40 objectives as a part of COBIT Core Model as against the 37 processes in earlier COBIT 5 Process Reference Model. There is a whole lot of new things to learn and also some things to ‘un-learn’. The session will cover the following topics: ? Brief background covering COBIT 5 ? Introduction to COBIT 2019 ? Major differences between COBIT 5 and COBIT 2019
